RE: effectiveness of feeders

We use feeders on our property. They seem to help keep the deer moving throughout our place. We seldom hunt right over them. We let them run each morning and evening for about 8-10 seconds. The areas around the feeder are always full of deer sign. The only problem is that the turkeys visit the feeders several times daily and scarf up most of the corn before the deer can get to it. It seems that the late evening feeding is the one the deer respond best to since the turkeys head off to roost fairly early. Its illegal in our state to shoot turkeys within 100 yards of a feeder. Some people disagree with using feeders, some don' t have any problem with them. You' ll need to make your own decision, but be sure you use them legally.
