What would you do?

This morning i rolled up to my hunting spot with the intentions of climbing to the top of the mountain to hunt my treestand. Only one problem though, as i was going up the road, i see two deer running in the field both does. As i approach the backfield where i get out and get ready for my hike up the mountain, my headlights catch MR. BIG out in the backfield with a doe. He is a nice 8 point, maybe a ten, ( i have only seen him one other time). I mean like the only way to get to my treestand is to continue on the road and drive into the woods(which i didn' t want to do). SO WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THIS HAPPENED TO YOU? ok heres what i tried to not success: i watched him in my headlights for about 3 mins and he just causually walked back into the woods where he came from along with the doe, i backed up the truck to the previous field and tried to walk down the edge of that field and get ahead of him somehow(yea right). all i ended up doing was scare the first 2 deer deeper into the woods and i think i am ended up scaring him. well at least i still know he is alive.[:' (]:([:@]

RE: What would you do?

most likely I' d have waited until it was light enough to go in and still hunt my way through.

I think you would be better off driving a truck past him than walking past him--I would have continued on with the original plan unless he was standing under my deer stand or within sight of the deerstand.jmo.

i would have waited him out then snuck through the woods after daylight. or left altogether only to return the following morning about 1 hour earlier.

RE: What would you do?

Dammed if you do and dammed if you don' t
I would have probably backed out 250-300 yards away and try to anticipate where he would end up. If it was that early maybe head towards bedding area or travel path. Either way I would know whatever I would choose would be wrong. Then I would be thankful that at least he exists and that I saw deer.
