don't forget guys that range finders that work far, don't always work well up close, due to the magnification power on them, higher mag, can make finding a deer in a small objective harder for some folks and they also loose light faster,
and then vice versa, range finders with low power magnification, are not the best at ranging things FAR out, due to well, one its very easy to be off a tad and be off a LOT on a reading, and also, the cross hairs will cover a LOT more of a smaller target, making being as precise as possible harder, which could get you a reading of something your NOT aiming at, and NOT know it!
there there can also be a difference in overall size/weight period of longer reading one's over shorter range reading one's
might not matter to some folks, but does to others!
so not always one tool for the job that does it all best, IMO!

then don;t forget that there is always rangefinding binoculars too, so,. if one was looking to carry less items into the field/woods, maybe there a better option, too??
