In your past experience, which way have you found the deer ran after being hit with an arrow, did they run back the way they came or forward?

it depends, i have had them do both, i think it depends on where they were going, sometimes they even circle and come back close to where you shot them

I have seen them do both but more went where they were headed originally.

I would agree with both of the above, but would emphasis the running the direction they are going more often than not.

ahahha, the 2 ive shot this year have ran back where they came from. But the deer ive killed gun hunting have continued to where they were going

In my experience, it' s a crap shoot on that.

I' ve had them run back from where they came, on with where they were going, dead straight away from me, and dead straight towards me. (One almost knocked me down when it ran by.) Others have ran off and circled back to me, and a couple almost didn' t seem phased; stood still and fell over dead.

I' m no pro, LOL, but the one I shot last year continued in the same direction it was headed and dropped. The other doe that was with her slowly circled back to the cover they came from.
