Yes, I shave my arm as well. By the end of the season it looks like the top of my head!

I do it when I sharpen my knife but that' s about it. I use the Muzzy practice blades when I' m tuning my setup. I do inspect my blades before going out in the field. Rarely have I ever had to pull out the sharpener.

In the nature of trying to be as scent free as possible for hunting season, I shave all of my body hair 2-3 weeks before the season, including eyebrows. Hair is a big trapper and carrier of human scent.

So I have nothing left to shave when sharpening knives and broadheads.

I use grapes and see how thin I can cut them.

LOL Man do you shave your head too???

I tend to shave my left arm quite a bit with my knifes and broadheads, but about once a year I also will slice myself open with a broadhead! I have been lucky so far and never needed stitches so far!

My wife gave up on me years ago, she never ask why I do anything![]

I' ve tried this but the problem is I have so much hair by the time I' m done my blades are dull again. I' ve had to revert to shaving the fur off my cats tail. I' ve found that it is a little more forgiving and dosn' t dull my blades. The plus to using my cats tail is if I cut my cat it dosn' t hurt as it would if I had cut myself.

I do it just because I don' t know of any other way to test the sharpness of the blades without dulling them. I do use a broadhead wrench now, I ' ve had some deep cuts with my broadheads.
