RE: how much KE
You have to know the weight of your arrow and the speed of the bow.........then go here........[link]http://www.gunnersden.com/index.htm.arrow-energy.html[/link]

RE: how much KE
The combo is a 475 gr arrow flying at 295 fps. Here is the formula I used:velocity squared, divided by 450240, times arrow weight in grains. I use a 74lb Golden Eagle Iron Eagle (AMO 251) as my " launcher" . I checked my spreadsheet and actually it is making 92 lbs. Yes, I realize it is overkill but I can pull it comfortably and shoot it accurately(with a lot of practice). It will work on any North American game and bust a whitetails shoulder if I shoot too far forward. I did it once and it makes a horrible sound but the Muzzy broadhead passed through even after breaking a shoulder and two ribs. He went 110 yds with a great blood trail.:D
