DEER...Do you love 'em, respect 'em, tolerate 'em
or hate 'em? I personally love them! IMO they are the most beautiful animals God ever put on the earth! They are also the most elusive and adaptive big game prey mammal in North America. Different hunters have different motivation for hunting deer...what is your's?

They tolerate us, and they respect us as predator's, that demand's we respect deer, and even love the way they are so darn smart sometimes, and that fact that they feed us and our families.

I love them and respect them. If I didn't I wouldn't follow game laws and limits and would hunt only for the kill.

RE: DEER...Do you love 'em, respect 'em, tolerate 'em
Deer allow me to free my mind from the normal daily grind. They give me a chance to outwitt them at their own game. They give me lots of time to think while I'm waiting for them to appear. They allow me the chance to spend time with friends and family that I otherwise wouldn't see. So I guess what I would say is, I would like to Thank 'em.

I love them, the make my life more enjoyable, give me somthing to look foward too, provide entertainment from hunting and watching them etc. They also define the seasons around my house 1: deer season, 2: waiting for deer season. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

After all the time I spend thinking about them, getting ready for trips, scouting, spending money on equipment, and eating the fella from last year, it's either love or a mental illness.

RE: DEER...Do you love 'em, respect 'em, tolerate 'em
They definitely have my respect. I also just love to watch them in the wild because it is a rare thing. There are definitely more people who have never seen a deer in their natural environment than have. They are just beautifiul creatures. Taste good too!!

I love and respect them. Personally, whitetails have taught me some of my greatest lessons in life involving humility, persistence, respect and patients.

RE: DEER...Do you love 'em, respect 'em, tolerate 'em
None of the above. I like to hunt them a lot. I like to look at them a alot. I don't love, admire or tolerate. It's more "I like, I'm in awe and I persue".

If you don't do that,i don't consider you a hunter. Mother nature gives us all these beautiful things and God lets us have the tools to take them. Some things I like more than others, but if its wildlife,I love it. I believe you respect things a lot more when you figure out the animal usually will outsmart you before you outsmart it.

Well, whaddyaknow...what would the anti's think of a thread like this...a bunch of ruthless, cut-throat, heartless bambi killers talking about love and respect in a hunting forum. Ya gotta love it!

RE: DEER...Do you love 'em, respect 'em, tolerate 'em
Excellent question wolfen.
1. I admire deer and their ability to adapt to so many situations, thier ability to sense danger, be it visual, smell, or sound. The amazing thing is that an older deer develops a 6th sense when some thing is not right. 2. I am jealous of deer in an odd sort of way, they are free and totally in tune with thier enviroment. 3. I am thankful for deer, they allow me to match wits with them on thier turf and they win more than I do. They are a very worthy and tasty adversary. 4. I respect deer for thier tenacity, thier will to live, thier intelligence. 5. I am grateful to deer, they have over the years allowed me to learn so much about nature as a whole and about them also, yet it seems like the more I learn about them the more I realize I need to learn. 6. I guess to sum it up I love them. ![]() The Tazman |
