I' ve done two like that, one was at a squirrel, (pinned him, but retrieved him), one I hit the trigger early.[:' (]

Good shot!! I have not done that but my brother has and boy did we raz him. It was always a good laugh when we climbed in the area, and would look out and see an arrow sticking from the tree.

Should be better eating than my last two, they had turkey load peppered all through ' em!!

I prefer mine smoked over an open fire...

Question though---did the deer know what the he11 was going on, or just prance off a little nervous??

The one good thing about this is there is no closed season or bag limit on them. I think you should let them grow up a little before you shoot them for good QTM. I don' t think he' ll make the Weyerhaeuser Record Book.

I really hoped you tagged it instead of leaving it for the squirrels to gnaw on. Would be the only right thing to do.

Soak it in milk overnight before you cook it. It' ll make it a little more tender.:D
