Can you hunt this buck
Ok this is not a hypothetical question but need some input. Well If you are driving along the road in the evening (after dark) and on the side of the road you spot a nice buck and kind of have that particular spot noted. Do you think that deer will be gone or can you really have a good shot at him? Reason because the rut is just about here and know how they travel. Only reason I am going after or want to is that he IS the biggest deer I have ever seen alive in the wild. I know I would most likely not get him but if I was able to Then he would be very close to a booner[:o]. I didnl' t know they got that big here in NJ but It shocked the heck out of me.
Well do any of you guys ever try something like this or not? Brian |

RE: Can you hunt this buck
It' s a toss up. If he crosses there regularly, you can bet you' ll have a decent chance at him.
If he was just chasing does, he may not come that way again, but you never know..........go for it! |
RE: Can you hunt this buck
you' ll never know until you try

RE: Can you hunt this buck
I guess I will have to try the area where I saw him and see what happens.

RE: Can you hunt this buck
I tend to agree with the other responses that it really is a hit or miss kind of scenario. I would do some scouting around where you saw him to look for sign that would match up that particular buck. If you find plenty of it then give me a call and I will do a little recon-hunting for you so that you do not waste your time....;)
