Because it rained last night I slept in this morning. I was going to hunt the evening but it turned out to be such a nice day and with the rut kicking in I decided to head out early. I have a couple spots within a mile of the house so I headed out about 1:30. I got to my stand and climbed up and let things settle down. After about 15 mins I made some tending grunts and 5 mins later I started a rattling sequence followed by a few longer grunts. Not 10 mins later I see a buck walking down the ridge toward me and stops broadside 25 yards away behind some laurel. The way the wind was blowing I knew he could smell the mock scrape and he was looking for the buck(s) that were causing the commotion in his neck of the woods. After what seemed like forever he finally stepped into the opening and I sent the Slick Trick broadhead on its way. The blood trail was so easy to follow I could see it 15 yards ahead of me as I eased down it.

Thanks. That's the exit wound. The entrance was a couple inches higher on the opposite side.
I forgot to mention in my earlier post that when he was coming in he had his ears laid back. I think he was looking for a fight.
