Yearly food plots vs. Agricultural fields

I wonder how a food plot would work around a place of 146 acres, with surrounding farms that are hunted to no end. Deer come to my grandpa' s farm enough just for the ponds and corn and soybean fields. He doesn' t allow much hunting except for family. I thought about asking if I could prepare a food plot on about 5-10 acres. Do you think it will help the bucks come to the farm in times of stress(hint, hint, the GUN season)?

I think it would. They wouldn' t have to go far to eat, and that would be really good. Give it a try.

i don' t thnk that giving a deer more food would hurt them any. but don' t sacrfice any of there cover just to give them a little food. they need the cover more than they need the food when all the hunters come pounding through.

I don' t think that I' ll be taking up much of their cover because there is still 100 acres of woods. Thanks for the opinions :)
