Deer have no fear of rubber. It' s the human scent you are trying to avoid leaving behind.

I spray a little fox piss on the soles of mine when i wear them.

i dont know how anybody could keep the same pair of rubber boots for 5 years. if im lucky, they last 1 year. i usually tear mine from climbing up trees on the screw in steps or on briars.

Cow poo, horse poo, mud, grass, walnuts, grapes, apples etc. etc....find you some and stomp away in them...

Like someone else said, rubber is rubber, and will always smell like it. The purpose of wearing rubber boots is becuase rubber has less capacity to hold onto scent molecules than does leather, that is the goal.

I' ve been wearing rubber boots for 5 seasons now and can honestly say that every deer that I' ve seen cross my path has not once picked up my scent, I believe they work very well. Just keep them separate from your hunting clothes so the clothes don' t attract the rubber smell. I keep them in their separate container, and if water is present on the way to my stand I walk through it or step in deer dung, but don' t worry about the rubber smell man, it' s what their made of.

I was out Mon. morning and had a nice 8 or 10 pointer pick my scent and bolt. Never saw me, but he knew something wasn' t right. I' m blaming it on the new rubber boots I had on. I' ve put them outside under a pile of leaves, so hopefully in a week or two I can try them again.
How many of you think that same buck will come back to that area? I' m not sure if he was coming in to me rattling or if he was checking a scrape line near that location. I couldn' t get a clear look as he was on the other side of some brush, but I know he' s at least an 8 pt. and tall. I' m hoping he' ll be back this weekend. The area is private and nobody hunts through the week. I' ll be out there Saturday trying to get him.;)

Most strong scent killer known to man is..............pig manure. Just find a pig farmer and offer to check the pens :D Seriously I worked on farms for 20 years and nothing sticks to ya stronger or longer than the smell of pigs.

I scrubbed mine with baking soda and keep them in a trash bag( doubled up ) full of maple leaves( which are common where I hunt ). I also spay them with deer dander before each hunt.
