I asked this question mid post somewhere else but the post was not relating to the subject. My bad!

Anyway, while on stand ALL DAY LONG DURING THE RUT. Where/How do you all relieve yourselves (referring to urinating of course.)

You have three choices and only two of them are very viable. You can hold it all day(not viable), you can pee in a bottle or you can let it fly from up high. I let it out fly right out of the stand and have not had a deer get spooked yet. I' ve had deer sniff it and look around then just continue on their way. I' ve had deer lick the pee off the leaves below as well. Urine is mostly amonia and all mamal urine is very similar. The differences come from what you eat or passing over scent glands like a buck making a scrape. A deer might detect that you are a meat eater, but no necessarily a threat. Make sure to mind the wind so as not to get the tree or your boots soaked.

take a plastic bottle with you maybe a 2liter depending on how often you need to relieve yourself

I whiz in an empty water bottle from earlier. Make sure it' s a 20oz' er! It is also what I call a ' poorman' s hand warmer. It stays warm for a while!

I like the " let it fly from up high option" and have done so in the past. I think I did not see any deer aftwards one time and couldn' t help but think that was the reason.

But I agree, it is probably not a big deal. I let it fly from up high one time and a bedded deer took off from nearby but only because of the loud sound of it hitting the ground. It was a small doe. Nothing too heartbreaking.

Sometimes I chew tobacco (I know - bad habit) and spit from up high. I haven' t seen any deer run away because of that either. But I know it doesn' t help either.

I just also let it go from above. I' ve never had a problem with that.

ive heard of ol' timers talkin that they have made mock scrapes by getting down and reliveing there selves i dunno if it works or not tho

I read a study once about deers reactions to scrapes. They doctored some with buck pee, some with doe pee, some with estrous doe pee, and some with human urine. the scrape with the human urine was not visited any less than the others in the area...

just a tidbit that i recall from my reading

I have read that study as well. It is definitley interesting to hear such bizarre results.

Bottom line, when I am in my stand I am going to whiz from up high whenever I need to given this feedback
