I used to hunt 5-7 states a yr, and had many properties I kept stands on
I used to find and sell, about 8-10 stands a yr from trespassers too
used to leave a note when I took them down , saying IF they wanted back, they could contact me, But I would have them arrested for trespassing?(also would get them for property damage)
TO date, NO one has ever claimed a single stand!!
if you hunt a lot and a have a lot of places, its pretty easy to get a LOT of stands over the yrs!
if you buy 5 a yr, in 10 yrs that 50 stands?
been hunting for a lot more than 10 yrs
I also replace stands about every 10 yrs or sooner based on how they hold up, and all get a good once over every yr , as tree's grow and thats a TON of stress on welds!

5 ladders from the old lease days.
1 Climber
and 1 lock on and sticks
I would say 95% of my hunting is lock on 5% is climber
the only thing I use one ladder for is practicing with my bow in the backyard I have one double in an oak out back.

18 stands, combination of ladder and lock ons, on 5 different properties. I too have sold some that were uncomfortable over the past couple years. I leave the ladders up all year and bring most of the lock ons home.

That's easy
I have one treestand, a climber, for the last twenty years. It never stays outdoors, and is carried into the woods on the day of use, and carried out at the end of use. I use different locations.
Its never been left out over night. I carry it because I've stayed in shape and I walk five to ten miles a week.
The stand cost me some $160 dollars twenty years ago. I think I got a good bargain.
And the stand can't be used by many hunters. I has a weight limit of 250 lbs.
