Well I Finally Filled My Antlerless Tag!! (Pics)
 

This morning I finally filled my antlerless tag here in West Virginia. As some of you may have seen from my post on Tuesday, I thought I had filled my antlerless tag on Tuesday but it turned out to be a spike. Well this morning at around 8:30 I had a mature doe come by my stand but I was not in positon to take the shot so I had to let her pass. I few seconds later an spike came down the same trail following the doe. He made a small rub right beside my tree and continued on trailing the doe. About 30 minutes later 3 mature does and 2 fawns come by my stand and fed around in the overgrown field for 30 minutes or so. I decided to take one of the mature does that did not have any fawns. I took the broadside shot at 8 yards so this time there was no mistaking the doe for a small buck or even a button buck. I hit her right behind the shoulder with the 125 grain Shockwave and she was down within seconds. She traveled about 75 yards before expiring. I must say I am not sure which I like best my new Hoyt Razortec or the Shockwaves!;)

Solax- The spot between her eyes is a patch of light gray colored hair. I even noticed it right before I took the shot. Weird. She looked to be really old.

Tabby- Nope I am just getting started. I still have 5 weeks of vacation left. This season you can harvest 3 archery deer in WV but one must be a doe. Starting Nov 1st I will spend the entire month hunting the (4)bow hunting only counties here is WV. The hunting is rough and rugged but the rewards are worth it. I have 3 stands already hung and will start hunting probably on Halloween. In fact the below game cam picture is of a buck that I have seen 6 times using a funnel that I have one of my best stands in. He actually isn' t really a big buck for this area but he will do. Hope I get him!!!
