Most bang for your buck?
 

I'm in the market for a bow and was wondering what is the best bow for the buck. I know this question has been asked a few times(to say the least).

The twist on this question is that the spending limit is $400US.

My local proshop is a PSE dealer so he is partial to the PSE Thunderbolt LC, but I don't want to buy a bow because 1 guy said so .I've tried many a bows and I'm pretty comfortable with all of them so really it has come down to the "Most Bang for the Buck". Let's get some opinions here.

BTW, why is it that I never see any praise about PSE at this site? I see mostly Mathews, Pearson, Bowtech, etc. but never PSE. Thing s that make you say Hhhhhhhmmmmmmmm.

Hi bitsdoo, PSE makes some really good bows, no question about it. I have a couple of negative points about them, but none that involve quality in any way.
1. IMHO, they cost entirely too much.
2. No doubt on this one. PSE used to practice very aggressive marketing ploys. They would make bow shops take more bows than they could sell, then put them under the table when the shop owner could not make his payments to PSE. Once again, high quality bows, but dirty pool, in my book.
Don`t forget to look at some others like Darton, high country, or hoyt. Many company`s make good bows, it comes down to what feels right to you.

PSE makes fine bows, but I am not sure they offer the most bang for the buck. check out www.parkerbows.com they have some realy good package deals. Their bows are high quality and very sweet. You should be able to get a complete package for 400 bucks.

I have a couple of PSE Mach bows.
They are expensive though and that's why most people pass on them.
Got mine at a reduced price.
They rate with about anything out there and are better than many. The only bows that are superior,imo,are Bowman, Red Man, and Merlin.
The new Mach 11 target with Barnsdale limbs ranks with anything available.

If you're going to check out bows in that price range, don't forget about the Martin line. They make some very fine bows at really good prices. I got my Panther Mag for $350 and it is one sweet shooting bow.

Don't forget about the Hoyt magnatec or MT sport. Both are good bows. Martin is one also.

I say go with PSE, of everyone I know who shoots PSE, they love the bow. Including me. The Thunderbolt is a good choice, and Im not a PSE dealer, I just have heard good things about them.

I would recomend going to a pro shop and see what they have and let them fit a bow to you. I have 2 Dartons myself and love them.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Oddly enough, in that price range, I would choose the PSE Thunderbolt with Lightning Cam as well. And you've got eightly bucks left over to buy arrows to boot.
