You mean Christmas? If so, no that' s not true at all. You are allowed to hunt does and bucks on one tag during archery season (Oct 1 - Jan 15). During the black powder and rifle seasons, you can take does on certain days depending on the county you hunt in. Some counties let you take a doe any day if you have the tag. Others will let you take a doe on the last day with a buck tag if you haven' t filled it, yet. They want us to tag those does!

buckmaster...They are begging us to take does. Thats why they increased bow hunting to Jan 15th as SWOSU mentioned. We just had a youngster " doe" hunt last weekend as a matter of fact.

Whoaaaaa....guys! Read the Regulations. You can harvest 2 Antlered Deer and 2 Antlerless Deer with your bow from Oct. 1-Dec. 31. You can harvest an Antlerless ONLY deer from Jan. 1-Jan. 15th.

Dalejbrass-
Everything BigNastyD and I said was correct Why would you tell us to read the regs if we' ve proven we had? Even with what you said, it' s not true that you can only take does after Christmas. You can take them all season, and then only does from Jan 1- Jan 15

I guess I wasn' t real clear when I wrote that " you are allowed to hunt does and bucks on one tag during archery season (Oct 1-Jan15). What I meant was that archery season lasts from Oct 1-Jan 15, but of course, you can only take bucks until Dec 31, as Dalejbrass said. The last 15 days are doe only. You can take does all season long, though with archery tags. Sorry for the miscommunication!

SWOSUMike,

Sorry, I wasn' t trying to bash you or anyone else, just trying to clear things up! Yes, you are right that the archery season runs from Oct. 1 to Jan. 15th. But you were wrong about buck or doe till Jan. 15th. Jan. 1-15th is doe only.
