Need Advice!!

This weekend is a very big weekend for my husband and I. It is our seven year wedding anniversary and we chose to go hunting! This is my first time to ever go hunting. I want to be there to video him when he shoots his first deer with his bow. I' ve only been camping once in my life and I have a phobia of snakes and spiders. When he starts talking about walking through the woods in pitch black and not making any noise i get nervous. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? He also wants me to get a bow, what is a good bow for a women?

If he' s looking for his first deer with a bow, why would he let does pass by and wait for a buck? A first deer is a first deer, no matter what. Once you get a few of them out of the way and you' re confident in your ability to harvest an animal with a bow, then he can start trophy hunting.

If I was you, I would sit the rifle stand that has good sign near it. Sounds to me like your chances of seeing and harvesting a deer from that stand are the best. If things don' t work out and you dont get one - it won' t be disturbed much, if at all, by your presence there and still be a good spot for the gun season.

we always remember our first deer. Buck/doe is irrelevent. You' ll always be proud of it. The rifle stand area seems most productive. If concerned over a doe or buck, why not both of you have license, then can get 2. 1 buck 1 doe. P.S. anniversery? sure you' ll have time for hunting ;)

Bucks are great, but after this weekend you will know what I mean when I say that your first deer with a bow is a trophy no matter what. I would take the first good shoot at a mature deer that was given to me. Get that first one under his belt. (hopefully that will be the big buck) Sounds to me like the feeder situation will be the best for right now.

As far as messing it up for rifle season, once those rifles start popping next weekend what little you messed up by bowhunting will not matter.

hvhitter ISNT THAT THE TRUTH!!!!!!

dwhod.... i think the rifle stand is better to...but why dont you have a bow?
I think what ever he gets a good shot at would be best, but ill bet if he sees the buck lurking behind the does he will wait for it....
good luck and let us know how he does....

p.s make sure you use a harness also....

LOL...I wish my wife would not only hunt but have enough faith that I am going to get one the very first time I even attempt bowhunting. This is my third season and I have only taken two shots much less hit the darn thing. I hope your husband gets one though not that I would be jealous or anything..hehehehe.

Take a doe if it comes first. Get one under his belt. As for you sitting in the bushes, I wouldn' t advise that. If your going to be there, you need to be in a stand also.

If you could get another stand for you, I like the second setup, if not, go for the last one........who cares what his daddy says?
