What is this? .....a Bear?
Looks like a black bear to me. Bucks don't grow antlers that fast down here. Looks like you've got some good hunting ahead of you buddy. Good luck!
Thanks Brushy, should be a good season.
Just starting to put out cameras in 3B. Got a picture of a buck from last year that was a 3.5 year old 145 inch 8-pointer. Can't wait to see what he becomes this year. He's in the Trail Cam section from last year and the year before.
Good luck Barnes.

He was pretty nocturnal last year as a 3.5 year old. I'm going to have to figure out where he beds and get close.

Nocturnal so far, I guess I'll just have to wait til the "rut" to get a chance.

The last couple of weeks the buck sightings have been limited, probably due to the abundance of falling acorns and cherries. A couple decent bucks found their way back though.
Our bucks in 3B are out of velvet and have already changed their patterns. We don't have any acorns on our property. We do have cherries and some beech nuts. Lots of browse in the woods. I am just waiting for the deer to hammer our turnip field. But it's still slow. Maybe 6-10 deer are hitting it a night recently. Some years they hit it hard from July through November. Last year I saw 60 deer in the turnip field the first week of Oct.

Wont be too much longer now. Still nocturnal, hope that changes in a few weeks.

He's a dandy Barnes, good luck and hope you get him. Here's my "nocturnal" buddy, hope we have an early rut.
5 days left and I'm still trying to narrow down where I'm going. Morning still up in the air. I think I will sit in a climber, just inside the corner of one of our food plots.

Still getting pics of a decent buck but still NOT showing up in daylight. Hope this pattern changes in the next couple of weeks.
I'm getting more bears on cam than deer right now. No new bucks showing up yet and the big boy is showing up less frequently as well.
