broadhead alignment
Anyone align there broadheads to match the arrow fletching?Buddy of mine told me about it.

RE: broadhead alignment
It has zero effect on your broadheads accuracy. Waste of time in my opinion!

RE: broadhead alignment
After speing considerable time tuning my new bow (an AR 34) this year so I could shoot good groups with broadheads I must say I personally do not see it matters. I can take a Montec g5, shoot at 30 yards and tag a bullseye, I can then unscrew it and put a Muzzy on, same result - a bulls eye, I can then unscrew it and put a SteelForce broadhead on and get the same result....... My bow is perfectly tuned and I can shoot 3" groups at 40 yards (as long as Im shooting well and Im still fresh)
I shoot a drop away rest, which I do believe helps..... All this and like i said I can interchange my heads, and hit the mark.... I will say though. ALL of my arrows are marked. Out of the 2 dozen I have about half will spin a broad head like a GYRO - I mean PERFECTLY with NO WOBBLE AT ALL..... If it wobbles I do not use it......... I think paying attention to tuning will result in the same impact for a lot of people if you spend the time. Tune your bow fist - PERFECTLY Tune your arrows with your broadheads Go Shoot |
RE: broadhead alignment
You will be way ahead to forget about aligning your blades and vanes.
The best thing I have found is a arrow spinner. You can get these for 25$ or less and they will instanly tell you if your arrow and broadhead is a good match. I dont know how I ever made it without one.:) |
RE: broadhead alignment
I don' t necessarily align my broadhead blades to the fletchins. But I do align the blades to the nock position so that the blades are coming off the bow in the same alignment.

RE: broadhead alignment
My bow shoots 3 different broadheads in the same holes. 2 blade Magnus Stingers....3 blade Muzzy and 4 blade SteelForce. All 100 grain.
The SteelForce heads did not however fly as well as the other 2 to start. Still very good but not great. I then changed the alignment a little and BOOM....right with my other heads. No changes to the bow or arrows. I don' t know for sure that it makes any difference but those little plastic rings only cost a dollar so why not just get them and do it?? It doesn' t hurt.....I know that much ;) |
RE: broadhead alignment
I think it' s a waste of time but it' s not going to hurt if you do it.

RE: broadhead alignment
I used to do it but really, it made no difference. I only align them to pass under my sight guird.
