RE: Hunting with field points

Those punks need the crap kicked out of them and be tossed from the club AND turned into the authorities. Then break thier bows so they won' t be able to shoot any more deer like that. [:@][:@]

I don' t know of any hunting club that allows minors full membership, so their parents have to be in the club also. Kick them out as well on the grounds of not teaching their children decent hunting ethics or respect for game laws. Like father, like son, so they can' t be too high on the respectability scale either.

Do you know what their reasons are for using field points? Are they just being cheap? Do they not care?

I' m not sure about other states but in Maine you have to take you harvest to an inspection station. It would make sense to me that whoever inspects the deer would see that it wasn' t a broad head entrance wound and quite possibly may look like a bullet wound. When I was 16 I shot my deer on the first day of the season at about 4:30pm. The following afternoon the distrist warden showed up at my home, let himself into my garage where my doe was hanging and inspected the animal. I' m not sure if this is normal protocal because it was so early in the season or what. A broad head makes a very distinctive cut and I' m real suprised that the tagging station didn' t pick up on that.

A field point through both lungs will kill the deer and get like penetration as a broadhead. The studliness of today' s broadheads is overrated.
Yeah you can kill with a field point, but the small hole they will produce will close, leaving no blood trail to follow.

These 3 members (ages 16-20) have been advised by myself and other club members that what they are doing is illegal and that if we catch them they will be be turned in to the authorities as well as being removed as members of our hunting club.
You already know what they are doing. So why haven' t you done anything yet?

You don' t have to catch them if you already know what' s going on.

To allow them to keep hunting that way is saying it' s ok.

Do something!

Thats sorry they would consider doing that, ive never been bow hunting for deer, and its common sence not to do that, that like someone cutting a leg off a human and leaving him there hoping around suffering.

Not only is it unethical, but in most states it is unlegal(aka illegal).
