I first read about this about 15 years ago and started implementing the idea. It did work for me on at least one occassion and resulted in my biggest buck to date.

Be careful though to not call before you can see enough to make the shot if he comes to you.

Definately has merit as I know how well calling does work.....like Dave mentioned, if you can' t see' em, you can' t shot' em but it might hold a buck long enough for light to gather...one other caution.....calling too much will spoil your chances if the buck happens by during light, he' s heard it, learned it, avoids it.

So you mean trying this now, in pre-rut, as a curiosity/territorial thing? Or is this more of a rut idea??
