Nope! If I could see like a turkey , hear like a deer , and had the nose of a bear , then I would consider myself the ultimate predator!

Any of the feline family are the ultimate predators...they are simply made for one thing, that is killing....think about it, you' ll be humbled beyond believe if you think you can handle a cougar, lion, tiger or whatever and being armed with a bow....lol....man has become weak...we might be the top of the food chain because of our intelligence...but one on one, we' re easy prey....

I am however a worthy predator, but not the ultimate.

Compared to other two legged predators, I think I can hold my own. The four legged ones are a different story!!

No way, if I could take on a bear or a cat with nothing but my bare hands then yes. Look at all the gadgets we use and still, alot of us come home empty handed. Look at the gadgets the Native Americans didn' t have and rarely came home emtpy handed. We aren' t even close.

I like to be confident, but I won' t fool myself.

The area I have hunted for years has a growing wolf population and THEY are the top of the predator pecking order. Unfortunately..... :-(

I' m definately NOT the ultimate predator. There are some predators that would eat me alive. LOL. :)

I personally feel more like a sniper.Watching my unsuspecting prey go about their business.Unless of course there is a bunch of crazy animals running around than I feel like Marlin Perkins.:D

that has only crossed my mind a couple of times, usually i become a doe walking through the woods, slipping through silently, just waiting for that buck :D

i had to edit....at least let ya' ll know i' m not looking for a buck, i have one already....but i become one with the woods, like one of the critters.......

If I was the ultimate predator I wouldn' t shake like a leaf when I nice buck comes close. I bet lions never second guess their ability to catch a zebra.

NOPE.... my brother is. I' m always playing catch up. If he only hunted with a bow I think he' d be perfect.;) The guy is a shadow in the woods. Blows my mind. He has more deer and turkey savy than anyone I' ve met.

Ahhhh, VC, that is not altogether fair....it depends on circumstance.....just as nature does, not to mention intelligence. ;) Nuff said on that one...back to the post.

In close to almost 50 years of being in the woods, NO, I do not consider myself the supreme predator.. Nature has taught me very well how to be humble, and I am most thankful for that. Ask me if I can take care of myself in the wild....and the answer would be a definate YES. However, NO ONE is as good as the ones out there that do it for survival....meaning the creatures of the wild. Quite simply our senses cannot compete adequately.... We as humans although " animals" are not " animals in the wild" and some instincts are/ have been unfortunately " taught" out of many because of our society.....not to say that some of us here surely are survivors. :D[8D];) That is why it is either sheer luck, or tried and true knowledege of the prey we are after that ( sometimes that does not work even) we may be after that we succeed. I am going to agree with christine on this, the animals are fuul time profesionals we are part time amatures. Some times very sucessful amatures but amatures none the less.

I honestly feel like the biggest clutz in the world. I love being out doors in and around all God has Created, but I know I am just a vistitor and have to work super hard to even slightly blend in. I sure love it though!!
