I recently bought my first slick trick broadheads in the standard 1" size. They fly great but look awfully small. I am considering stepping up in size. What is your experience with the larger heads?

Im testing out the slick trick magnums this year. (1 1/8" wide) Ive killed a couple deer already this season and am pleased with them. See my blog for details and damage pics.

They may look small but they're lethal. I shoot the 125 grain Slick Trick Magnums (1 1/8"). They don't look a lot bigger than the 1" Standards and I still catch crap from time to time at our cabin for shooting what they call "bird points". It's all in fun, of course, but the blood trails usually let me get the last laugh. Those things are SHARP.

No problems with the standard Slicks. Don't worry. My first question to you before you bought them is what draw weight, draw length and arrow weight are you using?
Slick Trick makes a variety of designs from the standard and magnum which have a "flatter" profile which is fine for bows with sufficient KE. But may not get a pass through with lighter bows. In those bows I would recommend their Razor Tricks or Viper Tricks. The former is a cut on contact style and the latter has a steeper profile similar to the Magnus Stinger and Bear Razorhead. Both excellent designs for lighter poundage bows.

I shoot slick trick mags out of my crossbow. I love them, never had any problems

Widerack, I have taken many many deer with Slick Trick Standard profile heads. Yes they have a smaller radius BUT the angle of that cut actually blows a bigger hole. It's a steep profile which punches a nasty wound channel through a deer. I use them on my slower rigs as well as my traditional long re-curve bows. My higher speed bows I use the G5 Montechs. I DO intend to try out those Viper tricks in conjunction with my Traditional Long Re-Curve 60 pound bow. Them are some NASTY looking little devils. Might even give it a swing out of one of my BowTechs just for giggles.

Ive shot some viper tricks and couldn't find anything to complain about. They didn't win the #1 spot in my quiver but they are good heads and I would be very confident with them in my quiver..

Grizztricks I didn't like. Harder to get tuned. Shot 1 deer with those lodged in the shoulder and made retrieval harder than it needed to be.

Slick tricks are definitely more bite than bark.

Ive never tried the magnums or some of the others.

I jumped up to the mags with no issues. Flew just the same as the standard and with a slightly bigger cut diameter . Both will get the job done. I just liked the idea of a little bigger head.

Everyone has good reviews on the slicks. Might have to give these dudes a try!
