Important Questions as Bow Season Opens....

I am a first year bow hunter & had a few quick questions:

First, what type of scentless insect repellant do they make for we hunters in the deep south? I was putting up my climber yesterday after work & about got eaten up for a few minutes in the tree. Any recs on what to purchase?

And are there any other items in particular that I will need while atop my tree bow hunting? I have rifle hunted for years, so I have the usual items - binocs, scent spray, Copenhagen, etc. Am I missing anything?

Thanks & I hope each of you get the opportunity to harvest a deer this season with some close friends/family on hand.

I have seen stuff called " No Stinking Bugs" or somethign like that, i think it was odorless. Just check your local hunting store, they probably have something along those lines.

I use a product called No Stinkin' Bugs by ScentBlocker. It works well. Though in places where there are thick swarms I' d probably buy a bug tamer suit.

I like " non-scented deep woods off for sportsmen" . 100% deet and seems to keep them at bay. What part of the south are you from? Mississippi here.

Thanks for the responses. Indeed, I am known to all as the Greatest Hunter of All Time in the Southland. Still, I do have questions as we all do. I also DEMAND RESPECT while in the deer woods as each of you should. Sounds like I should try one of your recommended products this Saturday as I sit at my family' s North Florida farm deep in the deer woods.

I do hope you will consider my plea. Also, I trust each of you has a good hunting companion to join you in the woods.

Thanks Rack...I just spit my pretzels on my keyboard...:D

As to the question....make sure to bring a rope to pull your bow up with, and wear your safetly belt. Depending on what terrain you are in, a good set of bino' s might be an asset. Good luck.
