Muzzy Zero affect ?

I have a Muzzy zero effect on my Mathews Q2xl. (Great rest) My question is this, Iv' e noticed that muzzy stopped putting the overdraw bracket in their new MZE kits.
I' ve been asked by people why the bracket is so large and I really didn' t have an answer.
Has any one tryed removing the bracket ? I took mine off last night and put some 1/4 thick felt on the outside edge of the handle to help keep the arrow on the shelf.
It looks good but hasn' t been field tested yet.
Any advise or suggestions?? Thanks Jim

RE: Muzzy Zero affect ?

Jim.
I have the MZE on my Pat with the overdraw plate mainly for protection of my hand when using broad heads I also have some moleskin on the pick up arm to quiten the arrow on the draw.

I also had the MZE on my target bow but removed the over draw plate.
They both worked fine in the applications I had them.

The only reason I can think of for removing the plate is to cut down a little of the weight or to get the pick up arm closer to the riser.
