Daughter' s second year...

I took my 10 year old daughter out for her second year of hunting with Daddy last weekend. The bad news: we saw three deer in three and a half days. The good news: she was able to sit for three hours and 40 minutes one morning when it was 28 degrees. I got a 15' buddy ladder stand this year and it paid off. She was able to stay comfortable on the 48" bench seat. I also hung some camo burlap around the back and sides to help cover a majority of her movement. I got a deer last year when she went with me and she helpped me trail, field dress and drag it out of the woods. I told her that in two more years she can try it all by herself.

I love reading stories about children getting involved in hunting. My wife and I are expecting our first child (boy) this December. She gets a kick out of hearing me talk about how he and I will be going hunting and fishing together. He hasn' t even been born yet and I' ve already been looking at a little camo outfit. ;)
