You get what you pay for. If they are just for target then have at em but the fletchings comes off after 3 or 4 shots. Wouldnt take them hunting with me though.

The Devastators are a Dick's Sporting Goods exclusive shaft, meant to be a low budget option.

It's a 0.006"+/- straightness shaft with 4" vane-tech Vmax's (duravane similar), with a GT nock and acculite insert. I've seen a few with 2" HP vanes - which is what DSG's website says they come with.

They're roughly equivalent to the Expedition Hunter 5575 shaft, or slightly lower than the Exp H in shaft quality. I bought a set to use with a recurve bow plinking rabbits with Judos, have been fairly happy with them, but I'm also not asking very much out of them. Mostly I bought them because they're cheap and easily replaced when I beat them up bouncing off of the ground after Peter Rabbit. I have not had any issue with the vanes popping off as the other poster mentioned.

I personally hunt with all Gold Tip shafts. Often with XT Hunters - which are a step up from the Expedition hunters - and more often with Velocity XT's or Velocity Pro's. I just ordered a dozen Ultralight Pro's - same shaft as the Velocity Pro, but cheaper since it doesn't include components.
