How are the Bugs???
 

I haven' t been able to get out, but I' ve been talking to a lot of hunters at work, along with my hunting buddies, and most everybody is saying the bugs are terrible, especially along the river-bottoms. Anybody else been getting eaten up?

First two days of our opener were very chilly and made for great hunting:D Then it warmed up a bit and the *&@^ skeeters will carry you off[:' (]

Yo! The skeeters and gnats were about nuts! " No Stinkin Bugs" Spray did help.

They are terrible where I hunt in East Texas. That SHannon bug tamer is my new favorite purchase for thsi season. Next to the Stealth Cam that is.

Friday was nice. Cool, slight steady breeze, and cloudy. No bugs.
Sat. and Sun. warmed up a bit and the skeeters were swarming.
Looks like we' re going to have a shot of warm weather here for a few weeks, so the bugs will be sticking around.:(

I have been out twice on my property and have had a couple of chigger bites, nothing like what I was getting in the summer. Other then that it seems that the flying insects have gone away. I thought the first frost would have killed all of the chiggers but it seems that some of them have winter clothing.

Ive been using my thermocell all season and its worked great. I did make the mistake of turning off my thermocell while I was setting up a stand on Sunday and about a minute later I had hundreds of mosquitos attacking me. I turned it back on really quick. Mosquitos are very bad this year.

I had a bad run in with seed ticks last saturday evening. I had repostitioned my stand and I think they were on the tree I put it in. That made for a long sit. Also the skeeter and gnats are bad this year. Need a good cold front to move in.

They are horrible in swamps I am hunting in the South. The ThermaCell is the ticket, turn it on when I get in the stand and Bam no bugs until I turn it off when I leave! No spay no scent!!!

Mostquitoes have been out pretty bad but they dont have much room to bite me. The ticks are a crap shot. At my friends farm ive only had 1 on me. Down at greasy where imissed a buck 2 mornings ago i got SEVERAL on my pants after moving through a field, but none bit me. They where a lil bigger round than pencil lead. Now the only bugs ive truly had any problem with are these lil black flying bugs that bite the crap outa you.

Skeeters were really bad this last weekend. I was near a lake with a few water-retaining low spots and they ate me up. I just ordered the Thermacell. I sure hope is is as odorless as they say.
