Friend' s first buck - 8 pt
 

Well, I got back from my moose hunting trip around 6:30 on Saturday night. Within 5 minutes of turning my cell phone back on my buddy calls and says he hit an 8 pointer. So I unpack my boots and my jacket and we go looking for it. Turns out he gut shot the deer so we tracked it aways and when it jumped up we decided to leave it lay overnight. I went back yesterday morning since he had to work and tracked the deer out for him.

Not bad for a first buck. Probably about the same size my first one was.

Anyways - the buck field dressed 169 lbs and was shot in Lake County, IL.

I made sure to wash off any visible blood and stick his tongue back in his mouth before we took any pictures. This was the first time I really had an opportunity to " set up" a photo and I think it turned out pretty good.

Hmmm. I think that is a Jennings Carbon Extreme. I haven' t seen one of those in a long time. I think it came out about the same year I got my current bow. It was a smoker back then.
