Thermocell works!
 

FYI - Temperature this morning in south Louisiana at 4 am - 71 degrees - foggy, very light NE wind; mosquitoes everywhere[X(]! Took it for as long as I could stand it - I even had a bug suit on and they were biting me through it wherever it was tight. At around 730 am I decided to give the thermocell a try since nothing was moving around. I placed it as close to the tree as possible on the platform of my climber. In about 10 minutes I removed my head net because I noticed that the mosquitoes were not buzzing around me anymore. I did not see any deer this morning (I don' t think they were moving at all), but at least I still have blood left to hunt another day:D. I was amazed. I didn' t notice any smell, but common sense tells me that anything that is a repellant must give off some form of odor. Only time will tell for sure if deer can detect it - but for now it works wonders when the winds are light and the bugs are hungry!! Any reports on deer detecting this thing?

That' s great to hear, I' ve used one for the first time this year also.

I wonder if we could incorperate some sort of cover scent ridning the heat wave off of the burner? Like placing an earth scent wafer on top of the heating surface?

Ive been in the dark under a rock for a while, what is the themocell, and is there a a link I could look at one?

I used mine hunting swamp friday afternoon. The mosquitoes were killing me!!! Fired the Thermocell up and BAM in 15 minutes they were gone. Killed a 8 point at dusk. They say it is odorless, I had it under my seat on the foot platform of my loc-on stand. it was completely out of the way when the deer came in! It will go in the woods with me everytime!!!
