Rut

When do you all start rattling, grunting, ect, ect, for rutting bucks. Ive been practicing all summer, and my PSE and I are ready to go!

C.W. it greatly depends on the region you are hunting here in the upper midwest the peak of the rut is around Nov. 15th and I start rattling in late Oct. and early Nov. as far as grunting I try and vocalize throughout the season especially late in the evening when things are slow. Using Chreokee Warrior as a sign-in I am assuming you are in the Southeast somewhere so I would find out when the peak of the rut is and start rattling a couple of weeks before then....

Northeast is within the first two weeks of November usually, but with all the cold weather, i think it' s gonna be early this year...could be good or bad :) good luck

Here in Pa, usually the last week in October until the second week in November are the most productive times to rattle. It really depends a lot on whether the bucks are getting active. If I start seeing bucks in the middle of the day chasing does or just prowling around a lot, thats when I' ll start.
