Up in Sullivan County, I saw it in spurts. One day, it would be awesome. The next, nothing. All in all, it was more bust than boom.

I think it's late. One of the main indicators at our place is when we start seeing new mature bucks. All we're seeing are the resident bucks we've been seeing since Sept. Any day now, there will be several mature bucks showing up on the cameras that were never scene before. That day didn't come yet as of last Saturday.

I live and work in Montgomery County. Haven't seen much going on here, either. I keep my eyes peeled as I drive to and from work at dawn and dusk and have only seen a few doe. And I drive rural roads from Audubon (near Valley Forge), through Worcester and up to North Wales. It's been weak.

A friend of mine killed a nice 8 point buck in neighboring WV (10 miles from PA state line) this past week in their gun season. He said the buck was chasing 2 does. I guess the rut is in mid form in this area and the so-called experts are right about a late rut.

I had a small 4pt come by around 4:30PM this evening that looked like he was "cruising". I guess he's looking for sloppy seconds.
