Help - Grip is Loose on Matthews

Lately, when I' ve been shooting my Matthew' s Solo Cam Feather Light, the wooden grip is sliding forward after every shot. This grip does not slide off easily like some of the plastic grips but it seems like the recoil of the bow is pushing the grip about a half inch forward at each shot. It takes some effort to pop it into place. I just switched to carbon arrows, could this have made the change? Should I just Krazy Glue the grip in place? I think it' s effecting my accuracy. Thanks.

If you can pop it off .....do.... and clean all the existing glue off. Put a bead of silicone on it and put it back on . Tape it up tight and allow the silicone to dry and it' ll be fine. Or I have also used 2 sided carpet tape before and it worked really well.

If you have trouble getting the grip off ....a hair dryer or heat gun will help loosen the factory glue !! Good Luck !!

I had a simular problem with one of my competition grips and I was able to solve the problem by using Dow Corning Clear Silicone Adhesive, I placed a uniform thickness layer of Silicone on the inside of the grip and riser and then slid the grip onto the riser and then either tape or tie the grip in place, remove excess silicone that oozes out around the grip and let set up for 24 hours.
Hope this helps ya;)
I would avoid the crazy or super glues, they can damage the finish on your riser , and if you decidde you would like to try a different grip in the future you may have a hard time removing the super glued grip.

CBM SC and LADY FORGE both have excellent advice. The silicone works great I just wanted to add that it does not take much to do the job. Once you put the grip back on the silicone will spread out so just use it sparingly.

I took my grip off and wrapped the riser in batting tape ( the tape used on bat grips is baseball). I now just shoot of the riser. I like the narrow grip and feel of shooting of the riser. Helps with torque with my grip style.

Good luck
