This is the third time I have seen this. There were no other deer around

I have never seen them spotted past July by us. Either a very late fawn or just a "different" variety that has somehow established itself. To me it looks like an odd variety - appears to be of normal size for this year's fawn. Could be that the late spots help in survivability just a little. And if it were so young as to have spots, the mother would be near.
