Fellow TX bow hunters how was your opener?

I am not able to get out untill mid Oct. So I am wanting to live through those of you that got to hunt this weekend!

What part of the state do you hunt and how did you do?

We got over 18 inches of rain in the last month. Mosquitos were so bad - we didnt even hunt or put our blinds out. No biggy. We usually dont start hunting hard till mid November.

it was hella hot. 96 saturday 92 sunday, saw deer everytime out but one, only had a forkhorn within range, guess I saw about 25-30 during 5 trips out, nothing big, and no shot opportunities, be back out there in 2 weeks for a 9 day trip. Full moon then, so we ll see how that goes, come on cold front!!!

Not too eventful for me. Saw nada Saturday morning, so I moved to a better windwise location for Sunday morning.
Sunday morning I got a shot at a coyote, but my limb/cam hit my climbers armrest and saved the yotes life.

As far as the skeeters go, I used a theremacell and didn' t get bit once while in the stand. I even hunted w/ no head net on Saturday morning due to it falling to the ground before sunrise. Not even a buzz from the mosquitos, and I hunt in a swampy area.
