Does anyone do this ?
I did a few seasons ago,but,it' s abit of a pain.
What I' m talking about is tapeing the tops of your rubber boots. After your clothing is tucked in,,go around a few,or 3 times,to try and stop the " chimney" effect. What do most guys put in their boots to try and keep the odor down ??. I got the idea for the tape from an old Bob Kershner tape.He did it,,he had deer in close ALL the time,,must work, right ??. Oh yea,,I think he has his own deer farm ;) |
RE: Does anyone do this ?
not me,I see no need. I just spray with H.S. Sent-a-way and put the sent-a-way powder inside my boots.[:-]

RE: Does anyone do this ?
Bob Kirschner has good advice and good products. I wouldn' t even think of using anyone elses brand. Esp. those commercially produced National Brands on the market. I' ll take a privately owned small bussiness type any day. They are the ones who believe in quality first not the almighty dollar. PS. He does have his own Deer Pens only for the making of his scents, NOT for Hunting.

RE: Does anyone do this ?
Saw and shook hands with Bob last weekend at a bow festival....didn' t get a chance to talk a whole lot...
I don' t tape my boots...the tape has more scent than I want to carry into the woods, I use scent killers to eliminate as much as possible as well as powders in my boots....there are times I abandon rubber boots altogether and spray down my nylon type(webbed material what' s it called?) boots.. Depends on the wetness/marsh/creek crossing I have to get to a stand. |
