Bagged a doe tonight.

I' m pretty pumped. It' s my 4th year in a row that I filled a doe tag early in the season.

This doe snuck up on me and when I noticed her she was 10 yards broadside looking at me and her tail was going up. I figured she was gone but she looked back in the direction she came. I got ready for the shot, she took a few more steps and I gave her the ' baaa!' to stop her. I aimed, curled my finger but i didn' t have my finger on the release! I have to be the only moron to ever do that! She gave me time though. It was only an 8 yard shot so it was as easy as they get. I thought I hit her high but the exit would was perfect. She only went about 50 yards.

I shot her deep into some very hilly public land. While I was hunting a friend of mine was at my house watching tv so I recruited him to help me drag the deer. Turns out he was only along for moral support. He wouldn' t even touch the deer. Except for one time when I got hung up on a log he took one of his socks off and used it as a glove!!!!!!!!! He only touched the hoof and didn' t touch the deer for more than 5 seconds. That is the only time he touched the deer in 1.5 hours!!!!! This guy is 6' 7" 350+ pounds and he' s the biggest wussy I know. The highlight of the night had to be watching him biff it on a log and land in a pile of branches. He went down hard and let out a huge scream. It would have funnier if I didn' t get such a view of his plummers crack.

Anyway, she' ll taste good. Good luck all!

Congrats on the doe. Their all trophies. By the way, I know what your friend was scared of; Most people if their not exposed to game when their young, they are simply scared of the touch. They feel uncomfortable to touch it. Thankfully, I was not only rotten and rambunctious when young, but my dad had me field dress my first deer when I was about 10. He walked me through it, but had me do it all. Because of this I have never had a problem touching game at all. Just think of the log as his first exposure to game. It should get better from here on. By the way, the fall was hilarious!! Good Luck the rest of the season.
