Broadhead for Elk

My friend is going on a Bow hunt for Elk in Colorado and was wondering what broadhead would you recommend. He was thinking of some cut on contact broadhead?

No idea. I havent shot them yet. I usually buy new broadheads in August. Springtime is usually when I spend money on fishing gear and firearms.

I shoot wac'em, and g5 montecs.. They fly great and I like the holes they leave.

It doesn't really matter. Shot placement is what counts.

My elk went about 10 yards after getting hit with 125 Muzzies. Of course I was lucky enough to get two arrows in him so he really didn't have a chance!

I've always used 3 blade fixed & have taken Elk, Caribou, Black Bears, many Whitetails, Buffalo, Hogs, Sheep & more with them. Many good ones out there on the market.. I use Rocky Mountain Ironheads & friends I know use Slick tricks, Muzzys. Like I said, lots of decent ones out there.

Slick Tricks do the job great, I've seen first hand what they are capable of on Elk.
