This is my first time posting a picture.....could someone walk me through if my first try doesn' t work?

Posting pics isn' t that hard. Click on " Click here to upload" at the bottom of the reply box. then click on " browse" . Then scan through your computer files to your pic. Click on it to select it. Then click on " OK" . Then check the box " Embed picture in Post" . That should do it.

BTW, Congratulations on getting one. Our season doesn' t start until Oct. 1st and I' m dying to get out!

Here' s the short version....hopefully.

I went to my stand earlier than I would normally so I could trim out since I have not hunted there yet this year. I have been out there to check out the area but always forgot my pole saw. So I trimmed my tree, made alot of noise, and decided to sit for awhile. At about 15 minutes before closing I decided to get down because I have not yet seen a deer and wanted to check out the entire field that I could not see from my stand. I started getting down & I look out into the field and there he was about 100 yds out & coming right for me. I knew I would not be able to get back in my stand so I pulled my release back out of my pack & knocked an arrow. He was a little cautious as he came in but finally presented a 20 yd shot. Maybe it was the adrenalin, but I did not see if I hit him. He (what I later find out) ran in a big figure 8 pattern, which I could not see because of my poor trimming job. I called my wife and she brought me my maglight because of course the one in my pack did not work. She came out and when we finally did find blood it was a great blood trail. The blood seemed to be high so I figured I had hit him high, but there was alot of it. After about an hour we found it. I did not make the best hit, it was hit high and back, but caught one lung with it slightly quartering away when I shot. The dragging really sucked as it was just me and the mrs. & we had to go about 250yds. through some thick DNR set aside land. Anyway...sorry to be so long winded. It is a 12pt.; 15 3/4 spread; and weighed 165 dressed. Definately the largest animal I have ever shot, and is going to look great on my family room wall.

Great buck my friend...great buck and congratulations to you and the Mrs.....It may be fortune enough you had to wait on the Mrs. and the light to give the buck time to expire....it all worked out...proud of you.

Nice picture as well....I did notice tho...you said 12, I count 10...is there kickers the pic aint showing us....doesn' t matter....that is one great buck. Great job.

Rob, Here is another view and yes there are two kickers about 1.25" long...I have a better pic but was taken on my friends digital and I can' t figure out how to shrink it.

Illdeerslayer, it was taken on private land. About 80 acres of which about half is in a dnr set aside program and thick willows and half corn. It is also surrounded by soybeans, more corn, & more thick willow/thick marsh grass type area. I was hunting on a fenceline overlooking the dnr land/ willows.
