Interesting point to ponder on Scent suits?
 

I posted this on another forum also to get some others ideas on this thought. I know that the scent suit effectiveness thing has been beat to death on the forums lately, but wanted to bring up another thought on it. I will state first off that I own 3 suits . I have 2 Scentblockers ( an Ultralitle and a Featherlite) and 1 Scentlok suit, with gloves and headgear for each one. I stated in the other post that even if it is true that they don' t work as well as they are supposed to , they are still quality suits and great camo so they still are good hunting clothes to me, and I have always been a scent control fanatic anyway so the suit to me is just another step in scent control.
Now the thought. Here in NW Ohio the mosquitoes are horrible this year. My hunting buddy and I have been putting up all our stands in the past month and they have been brutal. Now I have always understood that mosquitoes and other bugs are attracted to us by smell. I believe that I am correct on this. If that is the case, If you as a hunter are decked out head to toe in scent control clothes with really only your eye area uncovered, wouldn' t it be logical that you wouldn' t have to worry about attracting the mosquitoes? If they can' t smell ya they wouldn' t be on you right? Just a thought. To add to that, if a Scent clothing company is so confident in the effectiveness in their product, why would they need to put bug proof material on the suit?[>:] Just wanted to get others thoughts on this idea. I guess that to me it makes sense. Iam trying to occupy my mind until opening day, Oct 4th. :D

I have the original camo scent lock suit and yeas the mosquitos will find you. But the thickness of my suit would not allow them to penetrate.

They locate you (it is my understanding) by following the path of Co you emit when you exhale and they follow heat.
I' m trying the therma-cell mosquito repellar this year.

The mosquitos are so hungry where I hunt I think they would pull blood from my eyeballs if that' s all I left exposed.

Yes, Mosquitos are attracted by the CO2 emitted when you breathe (no containing CO2 gases)........one of the reasons that they always seem to be around your head.[:@]
If you could hold your breath for say 4 hours at least on stand I think you' d have your bug problem solved!;):D

It has been my experince with the scent lok suits that I have owned that the suits work really well. Everyone knows how keen a mature bucks sense of smell is well I have had quite a few of them come in down wind and only 1 has smelled me. October 4th here we come.
