Difference between a morning stand and evening stand?

People are always talking about having a morning stand or evening stand - what factors should be considered when trying to determine the best time of day to hunt out of a stand?

for a morning stand, I like it to be comfortable so I can sleep.

no seriously, some people set them up to intercept the deer coming back to bedding areas from feeding in the morning. We ususlly hunt the same stands although some tend to be only good for one or the other

Have you ever tried to shoot at a target that is standing in the sun??? The reason that they have the 2 different atands is to keep the sun to your back...and to not have those " maybe" shots... LOGIC....Hope this sheds some LIGHT on your question...[:-][:-][:-]

My morning stand catches the deer coming off the food going to there afternoon beds, my evening stands are either in the trees catching them goin to bed, or if its an afternoon, there by beds.

Hang your morning stands higher up on the ridge, and your evening stands lower on the bottoms. The thermals will rise up the hill in the mornings and fall during the evenings!! Use these to your advantage and fool the buck' s nose!!;)
