RE: Fight to the Death
Seems a little too early for a fight to death... I thinking more like one buck dies of CWD or Blue Tounge and another buck happens to be investigating.
|
RE: Fight to the Death
Not quite. More than one person watched them fight until the ended up in the creek.

RE: Fight to the Death
Allen.
Those are some good pics of natural selection and survival of the fittest. Both bucks are awesome its a pity one did not survive. |
RE: Fight to the Death
How do you think he died??
Broken neck? |
RE: Fight to the Death
The one buck forced the other buck head underwater!
|
RE: Fight to the Death
I' m not buying it. Why no pics of the actual fight?
|
RE: Fight to the Death
Story is coming soon. A spill on a creek was being looked at when officals could here noise further down the creek. They got down their and they caught the bucks fighting and the first buck pushed the second buck into the creek. In which the first buck kept pushing the second buck head under water until it stop moving.

RE: Fight to the Death

RE: Fight to the Death
I have seen tape of a buck drowning a doe when he was trying to mate with her. But i think it would be hard for that buck to hold down the other buck underwater to drown it they are both big boys and its not that deep of a creek. Not saying it can' t happen but i don' t think that deer died of drowning (he might of died during the fight but from some other cause for example stress of the fight could of gave him heart failure) i am just saying its unlikey that is what happen.

RE: Fight to the Death
Sad. Mother Nature can be cruel at times.
|
RE: Fight to the Death
Sorry that' s I have at this time. But from the source of the photo' s and the short story that went with it. I have no reason to believe otherwise.
|
RE: Fight to the Death
I can' t even get to the picture. You guys didn' t have any trouble with the link? I would really like to see this.
|
RE: Fight to the Death
Full story is now up.
|
RE: Fight to the Death
I don' t buy it either. The dead deer does have what might be a bullet hole in the ham area ....
|
RE: Fight to the Death
The photographs where taken by the Missouri Department of Conservation Employee on Conservation ground next to the headquarters with plenty of witnesses. I for sure a gun was not involved.LOL
|
RE: Fight to the Death
Thanks Alan. That is pretty awesome. Don' t usually end up this way but I guess sometimes it does happen. Both bucks were pretty nice.
|
RE: Fight to the Death
i dont have troublle beleiving it. Even if it didnt die from drowning, it could have broken its neck or something and fell there. Who knows...nice deer tho.
|
RE: Fight to the Death
I would have to agree with the broken neck theory. The other buck probably just kept up the attack until the one quit moving.
I read about a guy who shot a buck and it went down. While it was down a smaller buck came in and attacked the dead deer. Maybe some payback. I was watching a turkey hunting show, and this guy arrowed a bird and it dropped right there. Next thing you see is 2 other birds attacking the dead bird. The guy shot a second bird. He had 2 tags. |
