worlds fastest
whats the fastest bow? I think i saw on mathews website that it was the black max or whatever. Any body know what it is and how fast it shoots?
|
RE: worlds fastest
The Black Max has an IBO speed of 330 f.p.s. It was dubbed " the fastest bow" by someone who did an independant study of bows.
The BowTech Extreme VFT IBO' s at 333 f.p.s. The BowTech Patriot Dually IBO' s at 340 f.p.s. And the fastest out there is the BowTech BK II which IBO' s at 350 f.p.s. |
RE: worlds fastest
the new blackmax is available with 80lb draw

RE: worlds fastest
thanks BM, i was just curious

RE: worlds fastest
Speed only ...no brace height comparisons :
If you walked into a shop and shot a Bowtech Blk Knight2 and a Mathews Black Max2 set up identically, I personally feel the Blk Knight will win everytime. But I don' t think it' s been proven in a test that Mathews would admit to !! And if you have the hush kit on the BK2 and shot the BM2 with no silencers(just relying on the string surpressors) the margin would tighten up and I think you would only be talking a few fps difference !! Come on BM..........I know your a huge Bowtech guy.......but........ Those are the highest ratings for those VFT bows.........after all the posts on here it' s been pretty clear that those bows are chronographing in the lower ranges !! And the Black Max 2 is rated at 330(+).......from posts I have seen and people I' ve talked to the BM2 is really getting more like 338-340 fps IBO !! |
RE: worlds fastest
One of the bow techs at a shop here in GA, said at the AMO show, the BM2 beat the BK2 when shot side by side. This was done at the show with no additions to either bow. Had a rest and nock point. Just what I heard.

RE: worlds fastest
The new High Country line up has the fatest bows I have ever seen. All you have to do is shoot the High Country brand arrow' s and they will warrenty the bow. The blister at like 420fps.
The Matthews Black Max is also a fast bow. |
RE: worlds fastest
420fps???[&:][&:][&:]
RA |
RE: worlds fastest
You can' t get an 80 lb.BLACK MAX ??.I' m pretty sure 70 is the max for the MAX;)
|
RE: worlds fastest
Anyone who has seen the new line up of High Country bows have seen the new carbon limbs, risers, and arrows....and they all add up to 400+fps. So that pidly 350 is nothing compared to the new High Country' s.
|
RE: worlds fastest
HighCountry Brute Force.........not to burst your bubble, but my Patriot Dually would throw that same 3grs per lb of draw weight arrow that High Country uses in the range of 430+fps. Extreme VFT would be high 420' s (One was shot at the ATA show using the same arrow weight at 428fps) Mathews Black Max would be 420+, as would the Hoyt Supertec.
The BowTech BKII Option 1 would probably shoot that same arrow 440+fps! My point is that The High Country that was shooting 400fps is nothing more than an average Single Cam bow with tough materials that High Country is willing to warranty at a lower arrow weight.......more power to them. But to compare Apples to Apples if you shot that same High Country at 5grs per lb. of draw weight like all the other bows are rated it would just be middle of the road at best. I know this is a Dead Horse we' re beating but I wanted to let you know just how High Country is achieving these speeds as you seem a little uninformed as to what is really happening. |
RE: worlds fastest
Hey Matt - I think that fly is dry enough........
You ever gonna set it back in, or are you gonna whip that poor thing until the hackles fall off:D:D;) |
RE: worlds fastest
hehe i would hate to see that KE from the HC.. itd be like pissing in the wind with 3 grns per pound
|
RE: worlds fastest
I hate to burst your bubble, but as most bow hunters would know, they understand that the lighter arrow weight is what acheives such high speeds. But does your bow warrenty you to shoot such a light weight? I didn' t think so.
So thank you for that trip to the school room, but say something that someone might not know before your next lecture. |
RE: worlds fastest
so explain it again for those of us who are a bit simple. if arrow weight is same, etc. which bow is the fastest?
|
RE: worlds fastest
Speed is such a joke![:' (]
|
RE: worlds fastest
HCBF,
We' re talking about SPEED not warranties.........regardless of the arrow weight, if you shot an arrow out of your 400fps High Country, and then shot it out of a Hoyt Supertec for example the High Country will get blown out of the water. It is NOT the fastest bow. It just has a warranty that will cover you to shoot at 3grs /lb. That' s all........I honestly didn' t think you understood how they got that speed. If they want to warranty that and feel they can safely do it because of materials, like I said more power to them.......Apples to Apples SPEED wise they are NOTHING special period. |
RE: worlds fastest
now lets don' t get fussey now.;)
go deep and hunt hard.;) just joking. |
RE: worlds fastest
You are only saying that Rob cuz you shoot that darn slow Vortec.....:D
|
RE: worlds fastest
I have never shot the any bow with 3 grains per pound, but I don' t think I could shoot it for long. The vibration would be enough to rattle my fillings loose, to say nothing about seriously messing up an already tempermental shoulder. That is only my opinion as I have not shot a High Country w/ 3 g/lb. The other factor that would concern me is you only have one choice for arrows. How good are they & how much $$$$$.
For now I will stick with my slow bow, I would love to shoot 350 fps but not at the sacrafices neccasarry. Good luck |
RE: worlds fastest
I own a HCA Ultra extreme shooting 275 and a Bowtech Extreme VFT shooting 290
The VFT blows the HCA away in every category! 1. Quality - VFT is just a better built bow period! 2. Accuracy - VFT shoots much tighter groups! 3. Customer Service - Bowtech wins hands down! I take my hat off to Bowtech, they build one heck of a bow, they have my business from now on. My HCA has been sitting in its case since I bought the VFT, been saving it for a back up but I think I am going to sell it and by me another bowtech or Matthews LX. Then I would have the best of both worlds. |
RE: worlds fastest
Everything Matt says is true. With High countries history of custumer service I have to ask one question. WHAT WARRANTY?
|
RE: worlds fastest
Take your 3 grains per pound or whatever.........I' ll take my much heavier hunting arrow and out penetrate you all!!!!:D
IBO speed comparisons are a joke period!!!!!!! If you are gonna/hafta compare advertised bow speeds when buying a bow..........use the AMO speed, its much more realistic and accurate in general. If you want to " doctor" up your bow with long overdraws and light arrows just to see how fast your bow will shoot, then you are talking more in line with IBO speeds. IBO speed is a very poor indicator! |
RE: worlds fastest
You are only saying that Rob cuz you shoot that darn slow Vortec..... |
RE: worlds fastest
CBM , I believe you are corect sir as 2 cam bows in general are faster than one cam bows .
