Before:

I hunt two areas. One is considered statewide, the other is a management zone hunt. I was hunting a friends property where he picked this deer up on a trail cam. It's quite a ways from my house and I didn't know if I'd get back down there to hunt again this year. I let an OK buck and two does walk past my tree. Then realized maybe I should just go ahead and fill my statewide tag on a nice doe. Two does came by and I was getting ready to take one when one of them looked over her shoulder at that buck. He followed them and when he got into the open, I tried to pull my Hoyt back. It was very cold and I was too stiff to pull back all the way, so I had to let down. I stretched my back a few times and got the shot off. The shot looked good! All three deer ran up the hill and were watching, trying to see what made the noise. The does ran off, but the buck stayed and laid down. And then got up and tried to walk, but couldn't. He laid down and got up three more times be fore he died.
