Problem with one of my brand new Ti-100' s
 

I started shooting a new pack of the Ti-100' s yesterday. 2 of the 3 flew great , and I was shaving off vanes. The other would not fly right. It always flew about 5-6" low. I tried 8 or 9 other arrows that have been fine with BH' s, so I think I eliminated the insert or vane contact as the culprit. What do I do? I don' t want to fork out another $32 for three more, but I would like to have at least 3 in my quiver while hunting. Is there a way to straighten it? I am going to have to put it on an arrow spinner to see how bad it is, but I am more than a little disappointed in this development.

i shoot them as well..If I were you i would call rocky mountain with your problem. as expensive as those heads are they should let you send in the bad head and replace it free of charge.

Did you try putting one of the collars from one of the heads that flew good on the questionable head?

Contact Bruce Barrie at Rocky Mtn. Explain your problem and what steps you have made to eliminate other variables. He will make it right for you. rocky stands behind their products and every manufacture can have a bad head now and then. It would be something else, but it sounds like you have worked through differnt arrows, so I would give Rocky mtn a call or email.

I bought a spin tester yesterday. It spun as well as the others on several shafts. Possibly there is a weight distribution problem in the ferrule, I don' t know. I' m going to shoot it some more this afternoon and see if everything repeats the pattern. If it does, I' ll give Rocky Mtn a call. I really like the heads from a design standpoint. I went ahead and bought another pack, so I will have a full quiver, no matter what happens with that head.

What is the acceptable limit for head " wobble?" Is 1/16" acceptable? I' m going to use some paper and take some measurements to see what these heads look like.

Heck NO!!!! Thats a huge wobble[:o]

There should be NO wobble, atleast no more than the tolerance of your shafts, .003 to .006............not .063

With the flattened out Trocar-like tip, it kind of gives an optical illusion when spinning because of the light reflected off the flats. It is harder to determine the amount of wobble than with a round tip. That' s why I' m going to use some paper next to the tip so I can get a steady background to show relative movement. I' ll post how it turns out.
