Buying a bow from my dad.
I'm thinking of offering to buy one of my dads bows. I'm not even sure if he'll be up for it but this is one of his "extra" bows haha.
It's a Mathews switch back. What should i offer him? I dont want to give him some ridiculously low number but i'm sure he'll hook it up too. Thanks for the help. |
I would ask if you can borrow it. Shoot with him and hopefully he says "keep it" LOL

Think 1/2 of your first years harvest is a fair price.

What you guys are saying is definitely true. My dad has let me borrow anything and everything that i have every wanted, in life as well as hunting. To this day i dont have a piece of hunting gear that i've bought right down to the camo i wear. He'd never ask for that stuff back and he'd gladly let me borrow the bow as he has with a rifle and muzzle loader. The catch though is that i'm going to be moving cross country soon. He may let me have it straight up but just to be fair to him i'd like to offer something and not expect him to give it to me for free.
Honestly while he has given me all i've ever wanted i was also raised to respect the amount of work that goes into making a dollar, i feel like if i was to expect him to give it up for free it would be to disrespect what he's taught me regarding the subject. |
If you are in a family where borrowing it is not going to happen then if the bow and string are in good shape then the current market value of this bow is around $400 to $425, hope this helps you out.

Haha I think you gutting and carrying out his next trophy sounds about right!
