Broadheads

Which kind of broadheads to you prefer to use? Fixed or mechanical? Which broadheads to you recommend?

fixed..magnus snuffers. pack of 6 fer $35...3 fer practice, and the other 3 will last forever. sharpen using fine wet sand paper, rubbing flat on a surface gets them sharp like a razor and they go through and through the deer/hog every time leaving gaping wounds and massive blood trails. never had one run further than 30 yards.

I switched to Slick Tricks 5 years ago and have not looked back. IMO accuracy is great. Hit right where my field points do. I shoot a 100 grain. Price locally is 29.99 per 3 pack.

I use spitfires and love them! Shot a very nice 8 point this year, and the spitfire did a number on him....

rage 2 blade or muzzy 3 blade usually. i also like nap hell razors and thunderheads.

i prefer using fixed blades because i know they will perform if i do my part.

Rage 2 blade is my go-to. Utterly devastating wound channels, entries and blood trails. They also fly exactly like a field tip. Some people claim they malfunction, they mechanically can't unless you either set the blades wrong or you shoot a branch or twig before the animal. I have never seen them perform with anything but perfect opening every single time.

was always a fixed blade user. my new bow would not shoot well at all with my MX4 i had from all set up.. as suggested on this site i tried the grim reaper 100gr. like throwing darts. and have taken 2 deer with them and the farthest the doe i just shot on saturday only went 50yrds.. huge exit wound! looks like a one ounce shot gun slug went thru.. and she was 1/4 away pretty good.

Fixed, they last forever. Not saying that mechanical is bad or anything. Ive had friends who experienced mechanical broadhead not work or (open up when fired off). Although, mechanical can do more damage. Rage is a good mechanical broadhead. I like thoughs things.
