opinion on this shot
I shot a real nice buck yesterday morning. I hit him just above vitals right under the spine. He was only ten yrds away so i figured at that angle I had to get atleast the opposite lung. I waited 3 1/2 hrs before i started tracking him. Followed a pretty consistent blood trail for atleast a mile before I lost it. I feel i may have pushed him but maybe this wasnt a vital hit. What do you think did i not wait long enough. How long can a deer go on one lung

Sounds like you hit no mans land.
My guess, He's alive. |
you left out how high you were in the tree that determines the angle. my guess is he is alive. Is it just me or have we seen a lot more wounded deer posts this year?
