Default Safe to eat?

My son shot his first buck tonite. 135 inch 8 pt. he still in velvet and his hooves are all rotted off. You think it is safe to eat?

No computer And can't post pics on here from my phone. It's certainly odd. I've never seen one like it. I wonder if he got ehd and beat it. We lost a lot to it this year

Well I googled it. He certainly was infected with ehd and survived. The hoove thing is symptomatic of that
